William K.

BIO: William K.

I got started in art with photography back in 1977. I was injured in a motorcycle accident, which left me a paraplegic, in 1978. I was able to build a darkroom in my apartment in 1980. While finishing my business degree at the UW-Madison I completed 27 credits in studio art.

In 1988 I was diagnosed with schizophrenia; the next ten years were lean in terms of art production. I started coming to Cornucopia in 1999, attending some of the art workshops. There were days I didn’t want to do any artwork. I have been doing more art these days; all these images are post 1999.

I still hear and see things beyond 3-dimensional constructs; they aren’t as much of a hindrance as they used to be. Most of these images are abstsracted versions of my visions. Enjoy!
